Guided into the truth is the third book of reflections by Patrick Jurd. The title refers to the work of the Holy Spirit as described in the Gospel of John.

This book continues to demonstrate his enthusiasm for the gospel of Jesus Christ, seen in To Strengthen and Encourage and Always in God’s Presence. His series of brief reflections is written for parents, teachers, clergy and other educators who want to draw out the best in young people so that they may truly live the gospel.

1 review for Guided into the Truth

  1. Christopher Morris (Catholic Theological College, Melbourne)

Patrick often uses the words attributed to St Francis of Assisi: Preach the Gospel always, and if necessary use words. A phrase like this is a classic wisdom saying – it both entices and challenges – it catches us off guard – allures us with its warmth and simultaneously burns us with a deeper truth that jolts us out of our comfort zone. Guided into the truth expresses the spirit of Francis’ words. The reflections are short and strip things back to the essentials. At first reading we may be charmed by their simplicity. However very soon they lure us deeper… perhaps thinking… yes, I know what that means… but then feel compelled to read them one more time. Something calls us back not just for deeper understanding – but because we are inspired to wake up – challenged to live them.
