Rolph and Margaret Mayer have had a profound effect on countless lives. From their farm in Queensland, Rolph was sent to school in South Australia to escape anti-German sentiment during the war years, and went on to become a most popular and effective pastor, teacher and boarding house master.
He was Principal and lecturer at Lutheran Teacher’s College in Adelaide where he influenced hundreds of young Christians with his friendliness, interpersonal skills, storytelling, brilliant lectures and sermons, and his love and understanding of the Gospel. Margaret is outrageous. She came from a struggling farm to become head prefect at Immanuel College in Adelaide. She tells wonderful stories of growing up. She is an absolute dynamo, rides motorbikes, made her debut as a comedienne at last year’s Adelaide Fringe (at age 86), and recently stole the show on Family Feud.
