While there are well known contributions from international composers: John Bell, Christopher Walker, Bernadette Farrell, James Quinn, Delores Dufner, Daniel Schutte, Shirley Murray, Marty Haugen, Richard Proulx, Lucien Deiss, Graham Maule, Gregory Murray, Michael Joncas, Fred Kaan, Peter Scagnelli, Bob Hurd, David Haas, Brian Wren, John Foley, Timothy Dudley-Smith, Bob Dufford and many others.
Taize is well represented among the chants, along with music from ICEL composed to accompany various liturgical texts; and the music from the Iona Community is included.
The psalmody of Gelineau as well as traditional Latin music is part of the desire to recover the richness of the tradition from an earlier period in the Church’s life of worship.
